our facilities

The building was custom built to suit our needs, to enable us to provide the widest range of services and support.

Kitchen
We are very fortunate to have at the heart of the Umbrella Centre a beautiful Restaurant and Kitchen, serving superb lunches and snacks in a friendly and welcoming environment. All our menus are carefully selected to give a balanced and healthy selection of mouthwatering dishes at very reasonable prices.

We are very proud to be one of the very few establishments in Canterbury to hold a 5 Star Hygiene and Catering Certificate.

We promise you a very warm welcome and a pleasant visit.

Dining & Social Area
The Dining & Social area is by far the largest area within the Centre and can comfortably sit 30 people. This area is mainly used for providing seating for the daily meals. However, we do also use it for Meetings, Activities, Events and Workshops.

Rotary Room
On the first floor is the Rotary Room, the second largest area within the Centre. This area is used by the Members for inside sporting activities like Pool, Table Tennis, Darts and our weekly Fitness & Yoga activities. We do have a lift for those who need it.

This room is also used to hold meetings and events, not only by us but also by other organizations who rent the area. This area can easily accommodate 30 people, in comfort.

Rental information is as follows:
Room hire is available during opening hours at the following rates:
Voluntary Sector: £10 per hour
Associated Mental Health Public Sector Bodies: £10 per hour
Private and other Public Sector: £20 per hour

Computer Room
In most part due to a large donation from Canterbury College, right now we have 6 PC’s up and running, providing fast Internet. The PC’s are also installed with normal Office software.
