Canterbury Umbrella is a charity, and also a community centre. The support of volunteers, sponsors, and all of our other friends is very important to us. There are lots of ways you can get involved, so please do get in touch if you’re interested. Here is some information about ways to help, and you can find out more about each from the menu above:
- volunteering: we have many volunteers who help us with everything from cooking to social media, running classes or fundraising. Many of our volunteers are also umbrella members, which helps make sure user voices are part of the way we run. Many volunteers are members of the wider community who support our work, which is important for improving the stigma around mental health. Everyone is welcome to volunteer at Canterbury Umbrella.
- fundraising: there are many ways in which we raise the money which helps us do our work. Sometimes we put on fundraising events like our summer fete. Some people like to organiser their own fundraisers, or get involved in applying for grants. It’s all very important, so do get in touch if you could help.
- The Friends of Mental Health: this is a new group forming from friends and supporters of the charity. More information coming soon…
